This project involved the rehabilitation of four hydraulic elevators at two stations: EL 317 and 318 at Borough Hall Station, Clark Street Line (IRT), and EL 339 and EL 340 at Franklin Avenue Station, Shuttle Line (BMT). The work was performed concurrently with upgrades to the elevator machine rooms, communication systems, and general station enhancements such as tile cleaning and concrete repairs. MCSS supported The LiRo Group, the CCM for this contract, with electrical and mechanical inspections and project management services. MCSS personnel coordinated and closely monitored and inspected the installation and testing of systems including CCTV and intercom for elevators and elevator machine rooms, as well as the Passenger Station Local Area Network (PSLAN) digital communication system and fire alarm devices at the subway stations. They performed quality reviews of communication and electrical submittals and communication equipment as it was delivered on-site, and reviewed shop drawings and as-built drawings to ensure equipment was installed in accordance with contract requirements. MCSS staff tracked activities including the preparation and approval of electrical and communication bulletins and testing procedures. They also assisted the Elevator Commissioning Agent in preparing and maintaining the commissioning schedule based on the installation and testing of electrical and communications equipment.
